The musical film Dear Evan Hansen, by director Stephen Chbosky, will open the 46th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), scheduled for September 9-18.
The organizers also announced the film Competencia Oficial, a co-production between Spain and Argentina directed by Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat, and starring Antonio Banderas, Penélope Cruz and Oscar Martínez.
For the closing, TIFF proposes the screening of the film One Second, directed by the Chinese director Zhang Yimou.
The Toronto International Film Festival will take place in a hybrid format with face-to-face and online screenings of more than 100 films in its official selection.
