Russia does not trust EU in economic matters

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that his country does not trust the European Union (EU) in economic matters because it can impose sanctions against it at any time.

When speaking at a meeting with members of the Asssociation of European Businesses in Russia, the official said that Moscow is aware that it cannot trust the EU regarding strategic areas of the economy and military industry.

He  said that it cannot trust the supply of technologies and components by countries that could impose sanctions on it in a second, TASS new agency reported.

Lavrov expressed that trusting those conditions is simply unacceptable for a power like Russia.

He recalled that there was a time when the parties had joint productions, including military equipment, and with Ukraine and EU countries as well.
